From Calvin's release "Through High Places", "Londonderry Falls" is Calvin's arrangement of the original Irish classic "O Danny Boy" but with a twist. Half way through the song it takes a turn and moves into a scene of plunging waterfalls (check out the incredible video of this song on our DVD "The Journey I") culminating in a huge two-fisted roaring cascade down the piano.
Hymns have also been set to this tune and it is also known as Londonderry Air (hence Calvin's name for his arrangement). Calvin found out the true power of his version when he was able to capture the attention of Rhea (now his wife) when she heard him perform it!
"Londonderry Falls" is appropriate for the intermediate pianist. Click Here for a printable sample of Londonderry Falls sheet music.
